Cricket batting pads — buy leg guards online in India
The Killer Edition is our batting leg guard, made for leather ball cricket. It comes as one pair in four colours — White, Black, Red and Blue — in Youth and Adult sizes, configured for right-handed or left-handed batters.
Batting pads are the piece of equipment players think about least and regret most. A pad that is too long digs into the instep every time you take guard. A pad that is too short leaves the shin exposed exactly where the ball hits. Straps on the wrong side catch the other leg when you run. None of that is about how much you spent — it is about buying the right size and the right hand.

Get this right first
Left hand or right hand? It matters more than the size.
This is the single most common mistake in buying pads online, and it is the one thing you cannot work around once they arrive.
The straps and buckles on a batting pad are mounted on the outside of each leg. There are two reasons for that: the ball cannot strike a buckle, and the straps of one leg cannot catch on the other when you run between the wickets.
That means a right-handed batter and a left-handed batter need mirror-image pads. Order the wrong hand and the buckles sit on the inside of your legs, where they catch each other every time you take a quick single.
Choose the hand you bat with, not the hand you write with. A surprising number of cricketers bat the opposite way to how they throw or write, and it is worth a moment's thought before you order.
Get the size right
Youth or Adult — how to measure
Measure from the centre of your knee cap to the top of your instep, standing naturally. That single measurement decides it.
The knee roll must sit directly over the kneecap. That is the test, not the overall length — a pad can measure correctly and still fail it, because the roll's position within the pad varies.
Length is a guide. The roll is the answer.

Three checks once they arrive
1. The top of the pad sits above your knee cap when you stand naturally, covering the joint fully.
2. The top of the pad covers the thigh above the knee without riding into your hip when you crouch into your stance.
3. The bottom reaches the top of your foot without pressing into the instep when you take guard.

Looking after them
Batting pad care — four things that decide how long they last
Three straps, fastened top down, sitting behind the leg rather than crossed. Firm enough that the pad cannot rotate when you run; loose enough to bend the knee fully for a full innings.
If you have to over-tighten to stop rotation, the pad is too large — that is a sizing problem, not a strapping one.

What size batting pads should I buy - Youth or Adult? +
Measure from the centre of your knee cap to the top of your instep while standing. If that measurement is under roughly 42cm you want Youth; above it you want Adult. As a rough guide by height, Youth suits players up to about 5 feet 4 inches and Adult suits players above that. The top of the pad should sit above the knee with the pad covering the knee joint fully, and the bottom should reach the top of your foot without digging into the instep when you take guard.
What is the difference between left hand and right hand batting pads? +
The straps and buckles are mounted on the outside of each leg so they cannot be struck by the ball and do not interfere with the other leg when you run. That means a right-handed batter needs the straps configured one way and a left-handed batter the mirror image. Ordering the wrong hand is the single most common mistake in buying pads online. Choose the hand you bat with, not the hand you write with.

How light are these batting pads? +
Each pad weighs 730 to 760g. Weight matters more than most players realise, because a heavy pad is felt on every quick single and through every long innings, and it is the main reason players stop wearing pads properly in the nets. The 12 cane rods and high density foam do the protecting; the Levlon PU facing keeps the outer weight down.
Do batting pads come as a pair? +
Yes. One order is one pair - a left pad and a right pad, configured for the batting hand you select. You do not need to order two.
What is the warranty on batting pads? +
Manufacturing defects are covered. Straps, buckles and stitching failing under normal cricket use are covered. Impact damage from the ball is not, because that is the pad doing its job. If something fails, message us on WhatsApp with photographs and we will assess it directly, with no retailer in between.
