OEM & private label

Cricket bats under your own brand

A large share of the store-brand English willow sold internationally is made in Meerut and rebranded. We do that work directly, without an agent or a trading house in the middle — which is usually where a retailer's margin goes.

01
Your branding

Your stickers, logo and colourway on the blade, plus laser engraving where you want it.

02
Your shape

Profile, spine height, swell position, concaving and edge thickness built to your written spec.

03
Your weight bands

Pick the weight range your market buys. We sort and label every bat to it before packing.

04
Your handle spec

Round, oval or semi-oval; cane grade and grip type to your choice.

05
Your packaging

Branded sleeves, covers, swing tags and cartons — printed and fitted here before dispatch.

06
Sample first

We build a sample to your spec and send photos and video before any bulk run starts.

The workshop

Inside our Meerut cricket bat factory

Buyers are right to ask whether a supplier actually manufactures. Here is our floor — cleft grading, pressing, shaping and finishing. Visitors are welcome in Meerut by appointment.

Cielsports LLP — Meerut, Uttar Pradesh
Manufacturing

How we manufacture a cricket bat

A real sequence, in order. Every stage happens in our own workshop.

01

Cleft grading

Every cleft is inspected by hand for grain count, straightness, spacing and structural soundness. Rejected clefts never reach the press.

02

Seasoning check

Moisture content is verified before pressing. Willow that is too wet or too dry will not hold a profile or a ping.

03

8-stage hydraulic pressing

Compressed gradually across eight stages rather than the two to four common in volume production. Slower, and the reason our bats hold up.

04

Profile shaping

Spine, swell, concaving and edges cut by hand to the specification on the order — including your own profile spec on private-label runs.

05

Handle and splice

Layered cane handles with rubber insertions, joined at a hand-cut V-splice and glued under pressure.

06

Sanding and finishing

Progressive sanding, finishing, stickers, grip and toe guard. Also the final visual inspection.

07

Weight sorting and QC

Each bat is weighed and checked against the order spec, then labelled by weight band so your shelf is easy to sell from.

08

Export packing

Protective wrap, edge protection and rigid cartons built for international freight, with your packaging where specified.

Why buy direct

The margin is in the middle

Most English willow bats on shelves outside India were made in Meerut, then moved through a brand, an exporter and a distributor before reaching the retailer. Each one takes a margin, and it comes out of yours.

Buying from the workshop removes those layers. The bat is the same or better; the landed cost is lower; and you deal with the people who actually made it rather than a sales agent two countries away.

What that means for you

  • Better landed cost, and a stronger margin on premium bats
  • Your own brand on the blade, at no licensing cost
  • Specification control — build what your market actually buys
  • Direct answers on stock, willow grade and lead time, same day
  • Small first order, so the risk of trying us is low
For buyers researching suppliers

Sourcing cricket bats from Meerut

Why buyers search for Indian manufacturers

Around 70% of the world's cricket bats are made in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. When a retailer abroad looks for a cricket bat manufacturer in India, they are usually trying to reach the source of bats they already stock under someone else's label. Sourcing directly from a Meerut cricket bat factory removes the brand licence, the exporter and the distributor from the chain.

Manufacturer, exporter or trading house?

Many suppliers listed as cricket bat manufacturers in India are trading houses that buy from workshops and resell. The distinction matters: a trading house cannot control willow grade, pressing or profile, and cannot answer a specification question without asking someone else. We are an English willow bat supplier that owns its production, so specification, quality control and lead time are all decided here.

What to ask any supplier

  • Do you own the workshop, or buy from one?
  • What willow grades do you stock, and can I see current clefts?
  • How many pressing stages, and can I see the press?
  • What is the MOQ, and will you make a sample first?
  • Who prepares export documentation?

Questions buyers ask

Before you enquire

Do you manufacture, or resell?
We manufacture. Cielsports LLP runs its own workshop in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where every bat is graded, pressed, shaped, spliced and finished in-house. We are not a trading house or an export agent, so you deal directly with the people making your order.
What is your minimum order?
25 pieces per model for stock bats and 50 pieces per model for private-label bats under your own branding. Models can be mixed within an order to reach the minimum. We keep the first order deliberately small so you can assess the willow before committing to volume.
Can you make bats under our own brand?
Yes. We supply OEM and private-label cricket bats with your stickers, your profile specification, your handle and grip choice and your packaging. We build a sample to your spec and send photos and video before any bulk run begins.
Which countries do you export to?
More than 50 to date. Our main export markets are the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. We prepare the export documentation and arrange air or sea freight.
How do I get the wholesale price list?
Send the form on this page, email contact@cielsports.in or message +91-9548182993 on WhatsApp, or call +91-9259537871. You'll get the full list, MOQs and lead times, normally within one working day.
What grades of English willow do you supply?
The full range: entry level through Grade 1, Grade 1+ and Player Grade, with grain counts from 4–5 up to 9–15 on our top selection. We also make Kashmir willow bats, tennis-ball bats, batting gloves and pads, so one order can cover a whole shelf.
Why are Meerut-made bats cheaper than branded bats abroad?
Around 70% of the world's cricket bats are made in Meerut. Most are made here, then pass through a brand, an exporter and a distributor — each adding margin before the bat reaches a shelf. Buying direct removes those layers. The willow, the pressing and the craftsmanship are unchanged; only the chain is shorter.
Do you supply clubs, academies and distributors too?
Yes. Clubs and academies usually order mixed batches of Kashmir willow and entry-level English willow; retailers stock across the full range. Territory distributor arrangements can be discussed once a first order is complete.
Can we visit the factory?
Yes — buyers are welcome in Meerut by appointment, and several international buyers have visited. If you can't travel, we'll send live video from the floor and photographs of the current willow stock instead.
