Product Description

The Monster Edition is the classic scoop bat - a single deep scoop cut into the back of the blade, no spine at all. That makes it light in the hands and quick through the line at 980-1090g, with 45-50mm edges that still give you a generous hitting area. It's the easiest bat in the range to pick up and play with, and it suits 125g and 135g balls where bat speed matters more than mass. Player Grade Kashmir willow, available in natural and burn finish. Ready to play from day one - no knocking in, no oiling. Made in our own Meerut workshop and sold direct to you.

Overview

Monster Edition — scoop bat for tennis ball cricket

The Monster Edition is a hard tennis cricket bat built for balls between 125g and 150g. It carries 45–50mm edges, weighs 980–1090g, and the back of the blade is single scoop, no spine. It is made from Player Grade Kashmir willow — the top grade we source, and now the only grade we use across the whole hard tennis range.

All five of our hard tennis bats cost ₹3,499. Same willow, same price. What differs is the shape of the blade, and that is the only thing you need to choose between — which is a far more honest way to buy a bat than picking whichever one happens to be discounted this week.

Every bat is made in our own Meerut workshop and shipped direct to you. A Player Grade Kashmir willow bat with these specifications reaches ₹4,500 to ₹6,000 through a normal retail chain. There is no distributor, wholesaler or retailer margin in ₹3,499.

What makes this one different

Matching your bat to your ball

Hard tennis balls come in three weights, and the right bat weight depends almost entirely on which one your tournament uses.

This is the single most useful thing to get right, and almost nobody explains it. A hard tennis ball at 125g behaves nothing like one at 150g. The heavier ball carries more momentum into the bat, so it needs less bat mass to send it a long way — but it also punishes a slow swing far more.

The Monster runs 980–1090g, which covers the light and mid-weight ball formats comfortably. Tell us which ball your tournament uses when you order and we will pick from within that band accordingly.

Ball weightWhere it's usedBat weight we'd pick
125g ballCommon in casual and softer-surface gamesGo toward 980–1020g — bat speed matters more than mass here
135g ballThe most common weight in colony tournaments1020–1060g — the middle of the Monster's range
150g ballHeavy ball formats and league cricketToward 1090g, or step up to the Killer at 1050–1190g

Five hard tennis bats, one price

All five are Player Grade Kashmir willow at ₹3,499, ready to play from day one. The only thing that changes is the shape of the blade.

Looking after it

Hard tennis bat care — what actually matters

No knocking in and no oiling. But four things will decide whether this bat lasts one season or three.

Do thisWhy it matters
Never use a leather ballA leather ball will damage a hard tennis bat quickly. This bat is built for 125–150g tennis balls, nothing heavier. For leather ball cricket, our English willow range starts at ₹7,999.
Keep a toe guard on itThe toe fails first, especially on concrete, matting and rough colony pitches. A toe guard is the cheapest protection there is.
Store it upright, at room temperatureNever in a car boot and never against a heater. Heat draws moisture out of willow and cracking follows weeks later.
Keep it dryWet balls and damp storage soften willow permanently. If it gets wet, dry it at room temperature — never with direct heat.

Questions players ask

Monster Edition — frequently asked questions

Does the Monster Edition need knocking in? +

No. Hard tennis cricket bats are ready to play from day one — no oiling, no mallet work, no preparation. That is one of the real differences between a hard tennis bat and a leather ball bat, which needs 6 to 8 hours of knocking in before it faces a new ball. Take it out of the box and use it.

What is the Monster Edition made of? +

Player Grade Kashmir willow — the top grade we source. Every bat in our hard tennis range is now made from it. Kashmir willow is denser and more forgiving of abuse than English willow, which is exactly what a hard tennis ball demands. English willow is the wrong timber for tennis ball cricket at any price.

Which hard tennis bat should I buy? +

All five cost Rs 3,499 and use the same Player Grade Kashmir willow, so the choice is about shape rather than price. The Killer is the heaviest with a full spine and no scoop. The AK-47 has both a scoop and a spine. The Monster, Gold and Sixer are scoop bats with no spine, with the Sixer scooped the most and picking up fastest. The Gold is the Monster profile in an exclusive black finish.

Which bat weight should I choose for a 150g ball? +

For 150g heavy balls, take the top of the Monster's range at around 1090g, or consider the Killer Edition at 1050 to 1190g which is the heaviest bat we build for hard tennis. Heavier balls carry more momentum into the bat, so mass behind the ball pays off — but only if you can maintain bat speed through the shot.

What weight is the Monster Edition? +

980–1090g. Hard tennis balls come in 125g, 135g and 150g weights, and the right bat weight depends on which your tournament uses. Lighter balls reward bat speed, heavier balls reward mass. Message us on WhatsApp with the ball you play with and we will pick from within the range accordingly.

Can I use this bat with a leather ball? +

No. Hard tennis bats are built for hard tennis balls between 125g and 150g. A leather ball will damage one quickly, and the bat is not designed to handle it. For leather ball cricket, our English willow range starts at Rs 7,999 and our Kashmir willow leather ball bats are a separate range again.

Can I use this bat for tape ball or soft ball cricket? +

You can use it for tape ball cricket, and many of our customers do. Soft rubber balls are a different matter — these bats are heavier and thicker than a soft ball bat needs to be, and while nothing will break, you are carrying weight you do not need. For hard tennis and tape ball, this range is correct.

Do you deliver with Cash on Delivery? +

Yes. Free shipping across India with Cash on Delivery available, dispatched from Meerut within 24 hours and typically delivered in 3 to 5 days. We also ship to more than 50 countries — message us on WhatsApp at +91 95481 82993 for international orders.

How long will a hard tennis cricket bat last? +

A Player Grade Kashmir willow bat used only with hard tennis balls will typically last a full season of regular colony and tournament cricket. The most common causes of early failure are using it against a leather ball, playing on very abrasive surfaces without a toe guard, and storing it somewhere hot such as a car boot.

Are these bats made by Ciel Sports? +

Yes. We are a manufacturer in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, not a reseller. Every bat is graded, pressed, shaped and finished in our own workshop and shipped directly to you — which is why a Player Grade Kashmir willow bat with these specifications costs Rs 3,499 rather than the Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,000 the same bat reaches through a retail chain.

Do you make bats for clubs and tournaments in bulk? +

Yes. Our minimum wholesale order is 30 bats and we manufacture under your own brand if you want it — your logo, your stickers, your colourways. Full details on our cricket bat manufacturer and wholesale page.
