2 The cleft

Choose your willow grade

This is the only choice that changes the price. Everything below is included. Grade describes the cleft — how mature it was and how straight the grain runs. It never describes the workmanship, which is identical across all nine: eight hydraulic press stages, Sarawak cane handle, reinforced toe guard, 12-month warranty.

3 The blade

Choose your player profile

Where the mass sits in the blade, and therefore where your sweet spot is. Choose on how you actually score runs — not on which player you admire.

4 The grip

Choose your handle shape

All three are multi-piece Sarawak cane. The shape changes how the bat sits in your bottom hand and how much the face wants to rotate through a shot.

5 The toe

Choose your toe shape

Every bat leaves us with a reinforced toe guard fitted. The shape underneath it is yours to choose.

6 The fit

Choose your size

Pick by height rather than age. Between two sizes, take the smaller one — a bat you can control beats a bat that reaches further.

7 The pickup

Select a grade first and we'll show the range that grade presses to. We'll confirm on WhatsApp whether your exact weight is achievable in the profile you've chosen — willow is a natural material, and a cleft either presses to a weight or it doesn't.

8 Preparation

Oiling and knocking in

Every new bat needs knocking in, at every price. Ours need less than most because of the eight press stages — but skipping it is still the single most common way a new bat is destroyed. This is the only paid option on the page.

9 Face protection

Anti-scuff sheet

A clear 3M film across the face. A hard ball on dry willow lifts the surface fibres, and once the surface breaks, moisture gets in and the crack runs deeper with every blow. A sheet holds those fibres together. Included free if you want it.

10 The balance

Handle counterbalance

A small weight fitted into the top of the handle. It doesn't make the bat lighter — it moves the balance point up toward your hands, so the bat feels lighter and picks up more easily. It's how you get a big profile without the pickup that normally comes with it. Free.

Before you send it

Questions about building a custom bat

Does customising cost extra?
No, with one exception. The willow grade sets the price of the bat, and every other choice here — profile, handle shape, toe shape, size, weight, anti-scuff sheet, counterbalance and laser engraving — is included. The only paid addition is the preparation service at ₹1,000, which covers oiling, knocking in and fibre tape before dispatch.
Can I choose any weight I want?
Within reason, and we'll tell you honestly on WhatsApp whether the weight you've asked for is achievable in the grade and profile you've chosen. Willow is a natural material — a cleft either presses to a given weight or it doesn't. A very light bat in a very big profile isn't always possible, and we'd rather say so before you order than send you something that misses what you asked for.
What is a handle counterbalance?
A small weight fitted into the top of the handle. It doesn't make the bat lighter — it moves the balance point up toward your hands, so the bat feels lighter and picks up more easily. It's how you get a big profile without the pickup that normally comes with it. If you're happy with how your current bat picks up, you don't need one.
How long does a custom bat take?
Five days to build from the point we confirm your specification, plus transit — typically two to three days within India, and eight to fourteen days internationally. We send photographs of the finished bat before it ships.
Why don't the Inferno and Apex Limited offer a profile choice?
Because their geometry is the entire point of those two bats. Both are built in one fixed full profile with no concaving at all, so every gram stays in the blade and the edges run 42mm and above. Adding a profile choice would mean removing the thing you're buying them for. They're also offered in five adult sizes only, because their 1220g minimum weight is unsuitable for junior players.
Do I pay before you start?
No. Send your specification, and Akshat or Utkarsh will confirm what's achievable and quote the final price before anything is built or charged. Using this builder costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
