Ciel Sports makes five hard tennis cricket bats in our own workshop in Meerut, the city that produces the large majority of the world's cricket bats. Every one is Player Grade Kashmir willow — the top grade we source, and now the only grade we use across this range.
All five cost ₹3,499. That is deliberate. They share the same willow, the same process and the same build, so charging different prices for different blade shapes would be arbitrary. Choose on how you hit, not on what you can afford this week.

Scoop or spine? That's the whole decision.
Five bats sounds like a lot to choose between. It isn't — the range splits cleanly into two families, and once you know which one you want, there are only two or three bats left to pick from.
Spine bats — mass behind the ball
- A spine is a raised ridge of willow down the back of the blade
- It puts mass directly behind the point of contact — more energy into the ball
- Heavier: 1030–1190g across the two bats
- Best if you already bat with something substantial and want more behind the ball
- Best on 135g and 150g heavy balls, and on rough pitches where you miss the middle

Scoop bats — speed through the line
- A scoop removes willow from the back, so there is no spine at all
- It makes the bat lighter and quicker to swing
- Lighter: 980–1090g across all three
- Best if you play cross-bat — pulls, cuts, the slog over midwicket
- Best on 125g and 135g balls, where bat speed beats mass

Triple blade face with a scoop and a spine — the only bat that has all three. Heavier at 1030–1140g, and it hits harder for it, which is why it is our best seller for gully and colony cricket.
The heaviest bat we make for hard tennis. A full 60–63mm spine with nothing scooped out, so every gram stays behind the ball.
A single deep scoop and no spine. Light in the hands, quick through the line — the classic scoop bat, and the easiest one to pick up and play with.

Get the weight right
Match your bat to your ball
This is the most useful thing to get right and almost nobody explains it. A 125g ball behaves nothing like a 150g one, and the right bat weight follows the ball rather than your preference.

The common mistake is buying too heavy. A bat you cannot swing quickly through the line will cost you more runs than the extra mass ever gains — and in tennis ball cricket, where the ball comes on fast and low, that matters more than it does with a leather ball.

Why buy a hard tennis bat from Ciel Sports
Player Grade Kashmir willow across the whole range
We used to offer a mix of grades on this range. We no longer do — every hard tennis bat we make now uses the top grade we source. Kashmir willow is denser and far more forgiving of repeated hard impact than English willow, which is precisely what a 125–150g tennis ball demands. English willow is the wrong timber for this game at any price, and anyone selling it to you for tennis ball cricket is selling you the wrong bat.
Ready on day one — genuinely
No oiling, no mallet work, no two-week preparation. Hard tennis bats do not need knocking in, and ours arrive finished and ready. Take it out of the box and play. That is a real difference from leather ball cricket, where skipping the preparation is the most common way to destroy a new bat.
Factory direct — you pay for willow and labour
A bat leaving a Meerut factory normally passes through a distributor, a wholesaler and a retailer before it reaches a player, each adding margin. We removed all three. That is the entire reason a Player Grade bat with 45–50mm edges sits at ₹3,499 rather than the ₹4,500–₹6,000 the same bat reaches at retail.

Four things that decide how long it lasts

Which hard tennis cricket bat should I buy? +
The range splits into two families. The Killer and AK-47 keep a spine, so they are heavier at 1030 to 1190g and put more mass behind the ball. The Monster, Gold and Sixer are scoop bats with no spine, lighter at 980 to 1090g, and quicker through the line. Within the scoop bats, the Sixer is scooped the most and picks up fastest, while the Gold is the Monster profile in an exclusive black finish. Choose on how you hit, not on price, because they all cost the same.
What is the difference between a scoop bat and a spine bat? +
A scoop removes willow from the back of the blade, which makes the bat lighter and faster to swing. A spine is a raised ridge of willow down the back, which puts mass directly behind the point of contact for more power. Scooping helps pickup, a spine helps power, and you cannot maximise both at once. The AK-47 is the only bat in our range that carries both.

Kashmir willow is denser and far more forgiving of repeated hard impact than English willow, which is exactly what a hard tennis ball demands.
Do hard tennis cricket bats need knocking in? +
No. All five are ready to play from day one. No oiling, no mallet work, no preparation of any kind. That is a genuine difference between hard tennis bats and leather ball bats, which need 6 to 8 hours of knocking in before facing a new ball.
Which bat weight should I choose for my ball? +
Hard tennis balls come in 125g, 135g and 150g weights, and the right bat weight follows the ball. For 125g balls, lighter is better because bat speed matters more than mass, so the scoop bats at 980 to 1020g suit. For 135g balls, which are the most common in colony tournaments, 1020 to 1090g works well. For 150g heavy balls, the AK-47 at 1030 to 1140g or the Killer at 1050 to 1190g put more mass behind a ball that is already carrying momentum.
Can I use these bats with a leather ball? +
No. Hard tennis bats are built for tennis balls between 125g and 150g. A leather ball will damage one quickly and the bat is not designed to take it. For leather ball cricket, our English willow range starts at Rs 7,999 and we make a separate Kashmir willow leather ball range as well.
What is the difference between the Gold Edition and the Monster Edition? +
The specification is identical. Same Player Grade Kashmir willow, same 45 to 50mm edges, same 980 to 1090g weight range, same single scoop with no spine, same Rs 3,499 price. The difference is the finish: the Gold Edition carries a deep black finish that is exclusive to that bat and is not offered on any other model. It is a choice about appearance, not performance.

How long will a hard tennis cricket bat last? +
A Player Grade Kashmir willow bat used only with hard tennis balls will typically give a full season of regular colony and tournament cricket. The most common causes of early failure are using it against a leather ball, playing on abrasive surfaces without a toe guard, and storing it somewhere hot such as a car boot.
