Dream. Play. Rise.
We Don't Sell
Cricket Bats.We Make Them.
Ciel Sports is a cricket bat manufacturer in Meerut, India. Every bat that carries our name was graded, pressed, shaped and finished by our own craftsmen — then sent straight to the player, with nobody in between.
Founded 2019 by Akshat & Utkarsh.
80,000+ cricketers. 50+ countries. One workshop.
The bat you bought
was made down the road
Roughly 70% of the world's cricket bats are made in Meerut. Ours is a city of workshops, willow stores and the sound of mallets — generations of craftsmen who have shaped bats for brands whose names appear on the blade instead of theirs.
That was the thing we couldn't get past. A bat leaves Meerut, gains a sticker, passes through a distributor, a wholesaler and a showroom, and reaches a player at three times what it left for. The player pays for the chain. The craftsman gets none of it. And the bat itself is unchanged.
So in 2019 we started Ciel Sports to do it the other way round: make the bat properly, put our own name on it, and sell it straight to the person who's going to bat with it.
"The bat doesn't get better on the journey. Only more expensive."
Akshat & Utkarsh, foundersSelling direct changed more than the price. It meant we could build each bat to the individual player rather than to a wholesale order sheet — profile, weight, handle, size, engraving — and it meant the person who made the bat could answer the person using it.
Six years on, more than 80,000 cricketers in over 50 countries play our bats, and we still answer our own messages.
Come and see for yourself
Most cricket brands can't show you a factory, because they don't have one. Here's ours — cleft grading, pressing, shaping and finishing, all in Meerut.
Four things we won't compromise on
Every cleft graded by hand
Grain count, straightness, spacing and structural soundness — inspected one cleft at a time. We accept natural cosmetic marks that don't affect play, and reject anything unsound. We won't charge a premium for a pretty face.
Eight stages of pressing
Volume production presses two to four times. We press eight, gradually, so the fibres compress evenly instead of being crushed. It's slower and it costs us more. It's also why the bats last.
Built for one player
Your player profile, exact weight, handle shape, size and your name on the blade — included, never an upcharge. A bat made for an average player fits nobody in particular.
Honest answers, even costly ones
If a Grade 1 bat suits you better than a Player Grade one, we'll say so. If Kashmir willow is the smarter buy for how you play, we'll say that too. We'd rather lose the sale than sell you the wrong bat.
Who you're actually talking to
When you message Ciel Sports, one of these two replies. Not an agent, not a chatbot.
Akshat
Handles player enquiries, bespoke specifications and international orders. If you've asked which weight or profile suits your game, the answer probably came from him.
Utkarsh
Oversees willow selection, pressing and the workshop floor. Every cleft that becomes a bat has passed his grading before it reaches the press.
Behind them is a team of Meerut craftsmen whose families have been shaping cricket bats for generations.
Meerut — the cricket bat capital of the world
Around 70% of the world's cricket bats come from Meerut. The city has the willow supply chains, the pressing knowledge and, above all, the hands — craftsmen who learned the work from the generation before them.
It's why bats made here are better value, and it's also why so many are sold under other names. We think the city deserves the credit on the blade.
